Life's A Stage

The stage of our Earth is a platform,
And we, as actors, are here to perform.
We all have our fixed roles,
Our characters always have specific goals.
But it's up to us whether we want to follow the scripted conversations,
Or take it to completely different destinations.
Every person believes that the spotlight is on him,
And he does everything to impress the audience with his wits and whim.
It's never necessary that's the act will go forward as planned,
Just one mistake and everything slips from our hand.
Also, there are times when the act becomes monotonous,
That's why having a trick up your sleeve is always a bonus.
The audience loves to see what they never expect,
These are the moments that have an everlasting impact.
When you get mixed up in your lines and are horrified,
There will always be someone to remind you your part standing beside.
But nothing in this world lasts forever,
And after the show ends, what's going to be remembered is your character.
Our life is nothing but a stage,
Ironically, it is the birthplace of kindness and rage.

Never Say Never

There are many things in life that we regret,
The guilt slowly eats us up from the inside while we idly fret.
Some decisions of the past haunt us dearly,
What we don't know is that they cam help us be more lively.
We prefer to squander in self pity,
Rather than making it a sight so pretty.
In order to make a decision when in doubt,
You only have to feel that it's right. Memories will torture you when you do so,
You just need to relax and let it flow.
It causes us to live in the past,
Increasing the shadow it cast.
When we understand the experience that it gave us,
It might me too late to see the actual crux.
Never say never,
A thought is never too different from a scissor.

Tiring Disappointments

There comes a time in life,
When nothing seems to go right.
Happiness takes a back seat,
And disappointment roams the streets.
Its fairly easy to recognise such a phase,
There is a scarcity of smile on the face.
Such situations rob the mind of its senses,
Which get thrown in the deepest of trenches.
Only negative sides of things are visible,
Everything just seems less feasible.
Numerous attempts are made to keep the spirits up,
But the intensity always seems to drop.
Everyone says the phase will pass,
Yet nobody mentions the shadow it casts.
It's tiring to face disappointments every other day,
Since nothing you do makes them go away.
Even after all this you'll always find someone to provide you the flare,
And you'll realise, you just lived your worst nightmare.

Allied Foes

There is a very fine line of difference between an ally and a foe,
Until we realise it we won't know.
Both have drastically different definitions,
Yet somewhere along the line they have similar compositions.
Every person is an ally to some and foe to the rest,
He dons whichever role he seems best.
But it's important to have both roles in your pot,
Because one teaches things that the other cannot.
The person whom we call our ally,
Might be our worst foe and that much sly.
Life has a funny way of introducing us to such people with no fret,
Considering the situation, we automatically assume their roles without breaking a sweat.
They accompany us in the life's walk,
While they silently go about with their work in the dark.
We think we know them like the back of our hand,
What we don't know is that their move begins at our wit's end.
We all have allied foes,
It's just a matter of which role's close.
